Sela discovers that the Darkness is being manipulated by his servant Vassal; She tries to intervene but is attacked; Her mother, Galinda, emerges from the protoplasm of the Darkness and battles Vassal, allowing Sela and the Darkness time to escape; They arrive on a beautiful planet to begin a new life but, when the sun rises, it disintegrates the Darkness; As Sela is left alone with her grief, the Darkness reforms aboard his ship where Vassal is waiting to greet him.
